An outdoor, garden-based science class for curious young naturalists.
Students become 'plant detectives' — sketching, journaling, and investigating the botanical world alongside a working herb garden. Each semester students build a personal Field Journal that documents observations, discoveries, and the stories behind the plants we explore.
Services & Class Formats
In addition to the featured Herbology semester, Kelly offers flexible formats for schools, pods, and families. Each option emphasizes observation, hands-on science, and creative documentation.
Nature Journaling
$25 per hour
A guided field journaling class combining observation, nature writing, sketching, and watercolor. Students learn to slow down, notice details, record discoveries, and creatively document the world around them.
Outdoor Science Elective
$15 per session
Students investigate soil, water, weather, insects, ecosystems, decomposition, rocks and minerals, animal behavior, and other natural phenomena.

$237.50 per semester
Scientific Observation, Art & Critical Thinking: Hands-on outdoor plant science through field journaling, botanical watercolor, research, and simple experiments exploring herbs and useful plants.
Living Lab – Herbology
$225 per semester
